Mini Album

A dear childhood friend of mine was Baptized last month. It was such a wonderful and special day, and I was so thankful she asked me to be there to witness it with her family. She had asked me to take some pictures for her, which of course I was happy to do for her. But what my ultimate plan was, was to make her a keepsake of this beautiful day.

This was a very simple mini album to make. I used the 6x6 accordion CTMH Memory Showcase album (a great value at only $3.95) . It really only took me a few hours from start to finish... including the time to find and type out the Bible verses I used for journaling, and the picture from the internet of the front of the Church.... as I forgot to take one that day.

Journal/ Note Holder/ Bible Study Notes

While sitting in church a couple weeks ago my mind started to wander (it happens sometimes) about making a cute cover for the tablet I take notes on during Bible study. Then it wandered to... I could make them for Lauren and Savanna too.... then... They would be cute Easter gifts for my mother and sister.... then.... I bet my co-worker Jill would like one to contain all the notes she's continually writing.
I have about 8 of them made from different papers and in various states of being done. I want to get Jill's done today because we've had a long week at work and I know it will cheer her up. I'll post more pictures when I get the rest of them done.

The closet of shame

I have this wonderful walk-in closet in my craft-room. It's floor to ceiling (10 foot ceiling) shelving. It use to be my "teacher closet" when I was teaching, but now all the really good teacher stuff that I can't part with has moved to the tip top shelf. I know this closet will never look like a "catalog closet", but it sure is nice when I can walk into it and find what I need. Here are some very scary pictures of the closet before I cleaned it up a little this weekend.
Raleigh wondering why the door to the closet wont even open.
It's the catch all closet
ugh
So what in the world is in there?
Three bags of trash and some boxes...
Bags Bags and more bags... I think I might be a bag hound.

After
It's far from clean... But I can at least walk in and find stuff.

Sympathy Card

I always have a hard time making sympathy cards. What colors? Is it to frilly? Is it to dull?

But I really needed to make a card for a special friend who lost his mother this week.
Here's what I came up with.

I used all Close To My Heart Products:
Veranda paper X7119B (very pretty greens and neutral colors.
Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set D1476
Everlasting Life stamp set D1440
Juniper brad
Paper flower
Juniper ribbon
Cricut Wild Card cartage

The Cricut Swarm

Erin and I went to our first Cricut Swarm yesterday. We had a great time together, and the time just flew by. We didn't know what to expect so of course... as always.... we over packed, and had way to much "stuff" with us.
Below are pictures of a few of the things we made:
Cute cute cute... Wild Thing
The layout below was part of a contest to see who could make something... anything with a few supplies that were given to us. You could add anything to it that you wanted, but had to use the supplies that were given to you, and something had to be cut out by the Cricut. I had a number of things go wrong, so I didn't finish in the time allotted, but I did finish it when I got home.
I made this for my daughter's dog Gabby.
The great thing was that Erin won (wish I had taken a picture of her scrapbook page)! She got a new really cute Cricut cartridge.

These are a few of the Valentines from the swap.
Erin and I with one of the projects we made.
Erin working the Cricut.... work it.... work it
I had a terrible accident with one of the Cricut tools, even causing my finger to bleed. I insisted that Erin give me some sympathy. (It did require a band aide after all.)
My name was drawn for a prize.... and lucky me it was the prize I had my eye on.
The Pagoda Pagode cartridge. It's one that's on my "want list". I was so HAPPY!
What a great day, nothing better then my dear friend Erin, and a Cricut!

Snowday = Craftday

I LOVE LOVE LOVE winter and snow. The past two days have been heavenly for me. We have temps well below zero and around a foot of snow, but it's hard to tell because the snow has drifted in the wind.

Soooo I've had two PJ days in a row. Lots of found time that I could spend in my craft room. Here are some of creations.
Chinese New Year (year of the rabbit) cards. Close To My Heart Cardstock Black, Cranberry and White. Close To My Heart stamp set Kanji Phrases #C1339.

On Saturday I'm going to my first Cricut Swarm with my dear friend Erin. We need to bring 15 Valentine swap items. I used my Cricut and made these cute boxes with white cardstock, and cut the frame out from Close To My Heart Sweetheart paper #X7134B. I used clear transparency paper to cover the center window. I really want to fill them with Red Hots (not as heavy as these hearts) but I can't find any.

I just got the Paper Pups cartridge so I had to play with it and make some dog cards. I can't wait to get in there and play some more with this cartridge. I think I will be able to make some really cute stuff.... but for now I'm just "playing around with it".

Valentine cards for Lauren and her peeps. I don't think any of them have "boyfriends" at the moment so I thought this would be cute for them. I'll need to send a care package full of yummies to go with them.
I used Close To My Heart cardstock, Blush, Chocolate and Colonial White.
Another Paper Pups card.... a poodle of course!
